Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Homeschool Scheduler ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Homeschool Scheduler is a planning and tracking tool for homeschool families. The App allows you to create student profiles, manage curricula and tasks, track lesson progress and time, manage a reward coin system, and optionally sync data across devices.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

The App offers a free trial period. After the trial ends, a paid subscription is required to continue using the App. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account and managed by RevenueCat on our behalf.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

4. User Data

You retain ownership of all data you enter into the App, including student information, schedules, tasks, and progress records. We do not sell or share your data with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.

5. Family Sync

Family Sync uses Firebase Realtime Database to share data between family members' devices. By enabling Family Sync, you consent to your homeschool data being stored on Firebase (Google) servers. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your family sync code. Anyone with your family code can access the synced data.

6. Feedback and Suggestions

The App allows you to suggest curricula for inclusion in our database and to send us feedback via email (bug reports, feature ideas, and other suggestions). By submitting feedback or suggestions through the App or by email, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, modify, and incorporate your suggestions into the App at our discretion without obligation or compensation. In-app curriculum suggestions are rate-limited to prevent abuse.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's services or servers.
• Share your subscription with users outside your household.
• Abuse the curriculum suggestion feature by submitting spam or inappropriate content.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or security measures.

8. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services including Firebase (Google) for data sync, analytics, and crash reporting, and RevenueCat for subscription management. Your use of the App is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these providers.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data or educational records.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of significant changes through the App.
