Grading & Evaluations

Grading and Evaluations let you record academic assessments for each curriculum schedule. Whether you use letter grades, percentage scores, or pass/fail, the evaluation system adapts to your approach.

Accessing the Grade Evaluation

To add or edit a grade for a curriculum:

  1. Find the schedule card on the Progress tab or Students tab
  2. Tap the three dots menu on the schedule card
  3. Select Evaluate / Grade

Grade Types

Choose the grading format that matches your homeschool's approach:

Letter Grades

Standard letter grades from A+ through F:

  • A+, A, A-
  • B+, B, B-
  • C+, C, C-
  • D+, D, D-
  • F

Satisfactory / Unsatisfactory

A simple two-option scale:

  • Satisfactory — Student met expectations
  • Unsatisfactory — Student did not meet expectations

This is common for early elementary grades or non-academic subjects.

Percentage Scores

Enter a numeric score from 0 to 100%. The app displays the percentage alongside the schedule information.

Evaluation Notes

Along with the grade, you can add evaluation notes — free-form text where you can record:

  • Strengths and areas of improvement
  • Specific skills mastered
  • Recommendations for next steps
  • Portfolio documentation notes

Where Grades Appear

Once set, grades are displayed:

  • On the schedule card in the student's profile
  • In the Progress view alongside completion data
  • In exported progress reports

Grades are a great way to maintain records for portfolio reviews, umbrella school reporting, or your own reference.

Tip: You can update a grade at any time. Many families do a mid-year and end-of-year evaluation for each curriculum.
