Lesson Labels & Units
Lesson Labels let you customize how individual lessons are named and organized within a curriculum schedule. Choose the mode that best fits your curriculum's structure.
Simple Labels (Default)
By default, lessons are numbered sequentially: Lesson 1, Lesson 2, Lesson 3, and so on. This works well for most curricula where lessons follow a straightforward sequence.
Custom Prefix
Replace "Lesson" with your own prefix. For example:
- Chapter → Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3…
- Unit → Unit 1, Unit 2, Unit 3…
- Module → Module 1, Module 2, Module 3…
- Week → Week 1, Week 2, Week 3…
This is useful when your curriculum uses a different term for its divisions.
Units Mode
Units mode lets you define named units with specific lesson counts, optional reviews, and tests. This is ideal for curricula that are organized into distinct units or chapters with varying lengths.
For each unit, you can configure:
- Unit name — e.g., "Addition & Subtraction", "Ancient Egypt"
- Number of lessons in this unit
- Review lesson — Optional review at the end of the unit
- Test — Optional test/assessment at the end of the unit
The app will automatically sequence lessons across all your units. For example, a curriculum with 3 units of 10 lessons each (plus reviews and tests) would generate 36 total lessons.
Named Lessons Mode
For maximum control, you can assign a custom name to every individual lesson. This is perfect for:
- Curricula with unique lesson titles (e.g., "The Water Cycle", "Photosynthesis")
- Unit studies where each lesson covers a distinct topic
- Any curriculum where lesson numbers alone aren't descriptive enough
Tip: You can switch between label modes at any time. Your lesson completion history is preserved — only the display names change.
